GENUINE US AIR FORCE P-4 PILOT FLIGHT HELMET EARLY VERSION NOT A or B USAF

GENUINE US AIR FORCE P-4 PILOT FLIGHT HELMET - EARLY VERSION - NOT A or B. This is a Genuine US Air Force P-4 Flight Helmet. This is the very early P4 version, it is not the A or B. This helmet was not equipped with the Bar and Knob that you see on most P4s, instead it has a small "lip" or "handle" on the top of the visor.

It has an early 1947 Contract date and is a size Large. The helmet is in overall good condition for it's age. There is some deterioration of the foam inserts. The webbing and leather look good. Some paint checking on the outside but no cracks that I can see.
