Vintage Military Helicopter Pilot Flight Helmet Stainken. Not very often you come across one of these with provenance or a name you can actually look up. The helmet is in typical condition for a vintage helmet thats been in use for years, the foam inside is deteriorating. The below information is what we learned about the pilot named on the front of the helmet. He was a helicopter pilot and chief warrant officer 2 with the Active Army for 6 years and the Guard for 4 years. He flew border patrol in Germany with the Army. Not sure of his service dates mid to late 1950's judging by the style of the helmet.

He also flew commercial helicopters in NYC. We recovered this helmet here in upstate South Carolina.
