This is a original 1950's into the1960's & Vietnam War USN USMC Jet fighter and Prop pilot's Single visor flight helmet with boom mike Type APH-5. This helmet is one of the first hard shell helmets made for the USN that did not have a cloth liner.

This helmet is painted with day glow orange paint. The helmet was originally gold color.

It was gold color to be radar reflective. It didn't work so it was painted orange to make it easier to see the pilot while floating in the ocean. The helmet is in excellent condition with a dark visor. The helmet is a size Large. It is complete with all the correct original padding, earphones, cables and boom microphone.

It also has the sewn in leather snap clip style Oxygen mask mounts on the inside of the helmet. The interior of the helmet is all original. The big ear pads are soft and not damaged.
