Royal Air Force 1962 Dated Mk. 1A Flying helmet (Bone Dome) and Type G liner. The bone dome is complete but in a very well used condition. Some serious patina going on.
I cant see any serious damage or cracks. Many flight use marks and chips in the paint. Some light scratches on the visor. Chin strap is a bit rough. If only these things could talk. The previous owner clearly had it on display and was a heavy smoker judging by the nicotine smell. A bit of fabreze required I would say. The Type G liner dated 1958 is also a size 2. Inside the ear cups is written 5 SQN and the name PERRY.
Im not 100% but it looks like S/L PERRY. So possibly squadron leader Perry. RAF 5 Squadron flew Meteors and Javelins during the late 1950s early 1960s so you can be pretty certain thats what it was used in. Its not the best condition Mk.
Remember its nearly 60 years old. Helmet will be posted tracked and insured.
