Well-used MSA APH-5 flight helmet featuring very cool tape work and fitted with Hardman "Christmas tree" oxygen mask bayonets and receivers. The name "Strange" is written on the back in permanent marker and also engraved on the oxygen mask hardshell.
The helmet is untested and given the date of "1956" on the interior in pen it is unlikely to be functional. That said, if the 1956 date is accurate, this example is in fantastic condition for a clearly issued and used helmet of its age. There is significant foam deterioration inside, which is typical for APH-5 helmets. However, the two included pads are in good condition.
The shell shows some greenish patina, and the visor operates a bit stiffly (unsure if this is typical for APH-5 models). Also includes an old school helmet bag.
