Gentex HGU-55/P Pilot Flight Helmet with MBU-12/P Oxygen Mask USAF Aviation withBag

Up for sale is a Gentex HGU-55/P U. Air Force flight helmet paired with an MBU-12/P pilot oxygen mask. Military aviation gear commonly used by fighter pilots and is a highly collectible piece of modern militaria. Both the helmet and oxygen mask appear to be genuine military aviation equipment commonly found on the surplus market and show normal signs of use consistent with previously issued flight gear. Attached corrugated oxygen hose with bayonet connector.

Mask mounting straps and clips. Mask storage bag (as shown in photos). The helmet and mask are in used surplus condition and show cosmetic wear such as scuffs, marks, and general signs of use from service or storage. The helmet shell appears structurally intact with no obvious major cracks observed. The helmet is equipped with a tinted/smoke visor.

A clear visor is not present. The oxygen mask is included with its hose and connector.

There is some visible wear to a small section of the communications wire insulation near the hose connector (see photos). Interior padding and components appear present but show typical wear from age and use. Because of the nature of surplus flight equipment, this item should be considered a collectible, display, or restoration piece.
