Original authentic leather with flannel lining World War I pilot or flyer helmet. Hand stitched repairs on interior seams. At the back bottom vertical slit the stitching has come detached.

Remains supple and the leather has a fine patina that would undoubtedly be gorgeous and rich with polishing, should one choose to do so. I did not apply any cleaning agents or oils or polishes.
