1960-70's Era Japanese JSDF Pilot's Flight Helmet, Helicopter? ARC-44, Japan The styrofoam head is not included. This is a 1960-70's era Japanese JSDF pilot's flight helmet. It is very rare to find any Japanese flight gear especially helmets. I think this is a helicopter helmet and somewhat similar to a U.
The visor housing is cracked through the back of the visor knob slot. It is fiberglass and might be able to be repaired, but it still looks pretty good for a display. Someone cut the cord off where it exits the back of the helmet. The earcups and electronics look the same as an APH-5 so you could probably replace the cord with an APH-5 cord. Otherwise the helmet looks pretty clean and displays nicely. The APH-5 type rubber earcups are hard, but pretty much intact. The interior has the remains of the sizing pads.
