Usaf Us Gwot Fighter Pilot Gentex Hgu-55/p Flight Helmet + Mbu-12/p Oxygen Mask
US Air Force F-15 "Eagle" and F-16 "Fighting Falcon" fighter pilots in the Global War on Terror (GWOT) were issued the classic HGU-55/P flight helmet and MBU-12/P oxygen mask. This USAF US GWOT FIGHTER PILOT GENTEX HGU-55P FLIGHT HELMET is in excellent condition, with some scattered scratching and brownish spot soiling around the crown, a few small nicks in the lower right corner of the visor cover, some deterioration to the foam padding inside the ear cups, and with some light scattered age wear evident (most pictured). Otherwise, the helmet is in excellent shape, with absolutely no cracking or other damage to the tough Graphite/Aramid construction, which retains approximately 90% of the crisp, original gray exterior finish.
Most interestingly, it's a Size Large, boasts the original tinted visor with "bungee" attachment straps and a gray leather, chamois lined cover, and is dated "3-04" (March 2004) on the original nomenclature tag inside, which also carries the CAGE code "97427", denoting manufacture by the famous Gentex Corporation. The helmet features a thick gray leather edge roll, gray leather visor "bump" pad at each top crown, gray leather facing at each side crown, snap closure black nylon chinstrap with black leather pad, black nylon nape strap with black leather pads, gray metal oxygen mask bayonet clip mounts at the lower front, black velour covered padded lining, black rubber ear cups, metal interior ear phones, and all of the wiring, and is complete with the original USAF GWOT Fighter Pilot MBU-12/P Oxygen Mask in near mint condition, with only some light scattered dusting and age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the oxygen mask is in near mint shape, with absolutely no rips, holes, tears, or other damage to the supple, pliant gray rubber construction. Most interestingly, it's a Size Long, sports the original black nylon attachment straps with metal bayonet clips, gray rubber hose, internal mic, and all of the wiring, and is marked at the right side of the face piece with its maker, the famous "SCOTT", along with the dates "02 / 03 / 04" (2002, 2003, 2004) at the left side of the face piece. It bears some Gentex hardware throughout, and the set is a beautiful example of a very rare, original USAF US GWOT FIGHTER PILOT GENTEX HGU-55P FLIGHT HELMET.
